Cloud computing vendor VMware acquires SpringSource for $362 million

Cloud computing and virtualization vendor VMware announced this week that it has acquired privately held SpringSource for $362 million in cash and equity, plus approximately $58 million of unvested stock and options.

SpringSource is an open source java developer that provides enterprise web application development and management.
